Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Parcel at 4.8 against Caramel's 3.0. Parcel also leads on ratings volume (23K vs 2) and chart position (#21 vs unranked). Caramel's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Parcel holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Parcel has 23K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Parcel's written reviews are positive against 100% of Caramel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Parcel ships an update fortnightly, Caramel every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
