Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Monocular Enemy at 4.6 against Tatakimushi's 3.7. Monocular Enemy also leads on update cadence (every 15 months vs every 141 months) and ratings volume (105 vs 21). Tatakimushi's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Monocular Enemy holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Monocular Enemy has 105 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of Tatakimushi's written reviews are positive against 83% of Monocular Enemy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Tatakimushi ships an update every 141 months, Monocular Enemy every 15 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
