Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: NOS at none against De Tijd's 2. NOS also leads on review sentiment (43% vs 15%) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. De Tijd sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. NOS asks for nothing beyond the download.
NOS holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NOS has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 15% of De Tijd's written reviews are positive against 43% of NOS's.
De Tijd ships an update every 2 weeks, NOS every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
