Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Bible at 132K against Scripture Reader's 1. Bible also leads on chart position (#190 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Scripture Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bible has 132K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Bible ships an update monthly, Scripture Reader every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
