Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SkyCharts XC EFB at 5.0 against WingX®'s 3.6. SkyCharts XC EFB also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). WingX®'s advantage is ratings volume (185 vs 1) and review sentiment (47% vs 32%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. WingX® sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and SkyCharts XC EFB sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
SkyCharts XC EFB holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WingX® has 185 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of WingX®'s written reviews are positive against 32% of SkyCharts XC EFB's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
WingX® ships an update every 2 months, SkyCharts XC EFB monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
