About

LeafReader

LeafReader is a personal PDF library and reader for iPhone and iPad. The app interface currently uses Traditional Chinese. ORGANIZE YOUR LIBRARY Create cabinets and shelves. Browse PDF covers or a list, search titles, sort your collection and delete multiple local copies. READ AT YOUR PACE Read full-screen, swipe to turn pages and pinch to zoom. Landscape mode shows two pages. Choose left-to-right or right-to-left reading and adjust brightness. Tap the center to reveal the top toolbar and page thumbnails in the lower half. Reopen a book to resume. IMPORT AND SHARE Import PDFs through Files or another compatible app. Start Wi-Fi upload, choose a destination shelf and drop files in a browser on the same trusted network. PDFs upload one at a time with progress and byte counts. Share a PDF copy through the system share sheet. ASK ABOUT A PAGE Optional AI chat uses your own OpenAI API key. Ask a question, translate a page into Traditional Chinese or request a summary. Type or dictate your question, then review it before sending. The first send requires consent to share the selected page image and current conversation with OpenAI. Revoke consent in API Settings. OpenAI API charges are separate from ChatGPT subscriptions. AI answers may be inaccurate; check the original document. LOCAL READING No LeafReader account is needed. Imported PDFs can be read offline. No ads or analytics. Your library is not uploaded to a developer server. AI and sharing transmit only the content you choose. OPTIONAL SUPPORT Free download with optional, repeatable consumable tips through Apple in-app purchases. Tips are not subscriptions and do not unlock features. Apple displays the applicable price and currency. Requirements and limitations: • iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. PDF only; no EPUB, OCR, annotations or password-protected PDFs. • No cross-device library sync. Keep copies of important documents before removing the app. • Wi-Fi uploads require a trusted local network and the transfer screen to stay open. • Apple may process dictated audio when on-device speech recognition is unavailable.
