Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: KDE Connect at none against RemotePC Remote Desktop's 9. RemotePC Remote Desktop's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.2). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RemotePC Remote Desktop sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. KDE Connect asks for nothing beyond the download.
RemotePC Remote Desktop holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RemotePC Remote Desktop has 3.6K ratings behind it against 279, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of RemotePC Remote Desktop's written reviews are positive against 61% of KDE Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
RemotePC Remote Desktop ships an update every 2 weeks, KDE Connect every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
