Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: Infuse at Free against AVPlayerHD's $2.99. Infuse also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (28K vs 215). AVPlayerHD's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 18.0). On review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Infuse holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Infuse has 28K ratings behind it against 215, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of AVPlayerHD's written reviews are positive against 60% of Infuse's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

AVPlayerHD ships an update every 3 weeks, Infuse fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
