Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Yle Areena at none against TV4 Play's shown. Yle Areena also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 13) and review sentiment (43% vs 23%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Yle Areena holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Written reviews point the same way: 23% of TV4 Play's written reviews are positive against 43% of Yle Areena's.
