Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Folha de S.Paulo at 4.6 against Valor's 1.2. Folha de S.Paulo also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 20). Valor's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Valor sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Folha de S.Paulo sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Folha de S.Paulo holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Folha de S.Paulo has 1.1K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 6% of Valor's written reviews are positive against 17% of Folha de S.Paulo's.
Valor ships an update every 2 months, Folha de S.Paulo every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
