Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: 高铁出行 at 71% against 铁路12306's 8%. 高铁出行 also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.0). 铁路12306's advantage is rating (2.0 vs 1.0) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
铁路12306 holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 铁路12306 has 1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of 高铁出行's written reviews are positive against 8% of 铁路12306's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
高铁出行 ships an update every 6 months, 铁路12306 every 4 days. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
