Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: RandALL at 4.8 against Rule the Roost's 3.3. RandALL also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (72 vs 9). Rule the Roost's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 16) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RandALL sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days. Rule the Roost asks for nothing beyond the download.
RandALL holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RandALL has 72 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of RandALL's written reviews are positive against 75% of Rule the Roost's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
RandALL ships an update every 9 days, Rule the Roost every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
