Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Neue Visionen Plus at 100% against ZDF's 67%. Neue Visionen Plus also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). ZDF's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (9.8K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Neue Visionen Plus holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZDF has 9.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of ZDF's written reviews are positive against 100% of Neue Visionen Plus's.
ZDF ships an update monthly, Neue Visionen Plus every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
