Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Just Paint at 5.0 against Treasure Trails's 1.0. Just Paint also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). Treasure Trails's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Just Paint holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Just Paint's written reviews are positive against 31% of Treasure Trails's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Just Paint ships an update every 6 months, Treasure Trails every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
