Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Replicon at 3.9 against M's 3.0. Replicon also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (328 vs 6). M's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Replicon holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Replicon has 328 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Replicon's written reviews are positive against 43% of M's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Replicon ships an update every 3 weeks, M every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
