Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ScanNet at 79% against Magical Finder's 15%. ScanNet also leads on ratings volume (358 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). Magical Finder's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScanNet sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Magical Finder asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Magical Finder holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScanNet has 358 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Magical Finder's written reviews are positive against 79% of ScanNet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Magical Finder ships an update every 9 months, ScanNet every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
