Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Anker Power at fortnightly against Open Vehicles's every 4 months. Anker Power also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 14) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). Open Vehicles's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Anker Power holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Anker Power has 1.5K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Open Vehicles's written reviews are positive against 70% of Anker Power's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Open Vehicles ships an update every 4 months, Anker Power fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
