About

DigDay

Features

Stop guessing whether today is a dig day. DigDay scores ground conditions for metal detectorists from 0 to 100 โ€” based on recent rainfall, soil moisture, temperature, wind, and beach wave height โ€” so you know when to swing the coil and when to stay home. Every detectorist knows the routine: check the weather app, cross-reference NOAA tide stations, dig through forum threads about your soil region, and still guess. DigDay does the math for you and turns it into a single score with clear reasons. HOW IT WORKS 1. Set up your detector profile (VLF, PI, or multi-frequency) and your hunt site (park, farm, woods, beach). 2. DigDay pulls weather data and computes a 0โ€“100 ground score using moisture, temperature, wind, and detector-soil interaction. 3. You get GO, CAUTION, or SKIP for today, plus 3โ€“5 specific actions like "lower sensitivity 10โ€“15%" or "target below winter berm." It takes 30 seconds to set up. No account required. CORE FEATURES (FREE) - Today's DigScore for your home site, with category and 1-line reason - Last 7-day rainfall summary and condition breakdown bars - Detector profile presets for VLF, PI, and multi-frequency machines - Site-specific advice for park, farm, woods, and beach hunts PRO FEATURES Upgrade to Pro for deeper insights: - 7-day score forecast with the highest-scoring day highlighted - Hour-by-hour condition breakdown - Up to 20 saved sites - Beach cut alerts when wave height passes storm thresholds - Post-rain countdown per site - Detector-specific ground balance and sensitivity tips - Push notifications for GO days, beach cuts, and post-rain ready PRIVACY FIRST All data is stored locally on your device. No account, no tracking, no advertising. Location is used only to fetch weather data from Open-Meteo and is never stored or transmitted to our servers. This app provides condition score estimates based on weather data and general detecting principles. It is not a substitute for professional surveying, landowner permission, or 811 underground utility checks. Always obtain proper permission before detecting and call 811 before digging.
