Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: LoggerLink at 67% against HOBOconnect's 8%. LoggerLink also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). HOBOconnect's advantage is ratings volume (29 vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

HOBOconnect holds the better App Store score, 2.2 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HOBOconnect has 29 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of LoggerLink's written reviews are positive against 8% of HOBOconnect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

LoggerLink ships an update every 4 months, HOBOconnect every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
