Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: Garmin Clipboard™ at Free against McRun's $4.99. Garmin Clipboard™ also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). McRun's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 46%) and iOS requirement (7.1 vs 16.0). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Garmin Clipboard™ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Clipboard™ has 874 ratings behind it against 144, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of McRun's written reviews are positive against 46% of Garmin Clipboard™'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

McRun ships an update every 3 months, Garmin Clipboard™ every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
