DNA of Learning: Your Foundation for Student Success Showbie supports the improvement of everyday teaching and learning by elevating four essential strands of effective classroom practice - direct instruction, independent practice, personalised feedback and real-time assessment - all in one platform. Find out how easy it is to assign, collect and review student work from thousands of compatible iPad apps, or have your students complete assignments with Showbie’s built in tools. Provide rich feedback using digital ink, text and voice annotations right on images and PDFs, and then add your students’ best work to personalized digital portfolios that can be securely shared with parents. WHAT EDUCATORS ARE SAYING “Showbie is my number one can't live without app! It makes the iPad workflow process a breeze! I especially love how it works seamlessly with so many other apps.” — Kristen Paino, Lead Technology Integrator at Avenues: The World School “I don't need to convince my colleagues that they need to use this app — it sells itself. I like that it gives me the flexibility in how I choose to grade my student's work, especially with the voice notes feature. There is no single third party app that I would rather champion.” — Suzanne Lustenhouwer, Teacher and iPad Coordinator, Apple Distinguished Educator “I love that Showbie is so versatile that the youngest of students can use it independently, yet it is appropriate for older grades as well. The ease of use makes it a great workflow solution for classes with iPads.” — Kristi Meeuwse, Kindergarten Teacher, Apple Distinguished Educator KEY FEATURES FOR TEACHERS & STUDENTS • Share work from thousands of compatible iPad apps in a few taps • Use the pen tool and pin text notes directly on any PDF or image • Gauge class understanding in real-time with minute-by-minute assessment • Instantly differentiate assignments and materials to specific students • Quickly distribute instructions and materials to your whole class • Chat privately with individual students to provide timely feedback • Record voice notes for verbal feedback or language exercises • Quickly review and assess batches of student work and provide rich, valuable feedback • Add student work to individual digital portfolios, or enable students to curate their own portfolios • Invite parents to view their student’s work and keep them informed of classroom activity • Can be used with any classroom subject • Available in 18 languages ENHANCED SHOWBIE PRO FEATURES • Record and track grades as numeric scores or letter grades, along with qualitative feedback • Provide richer feedback with more pen colours and line thicknesses, by typing on the page, or by pinning voice notes directly to student work • Record longer voice notes and videos and upload larger files • Lock assignments to control student access to documents and feedback • Give parents complete access to assignments in the classes you choose

About

Uncertainty Calculator

This app allows users to perform error propagation calculations for mathematical expressions involving uncertain variables. It supports absolute and relative error inputs, various functions, and trigonometric calculations in degrees or radians. The tool helps ensure accurate reporting of results based on estimated errors.

Highlights
  • Error propagation calculations
  • Absolute and relative error input
  • Support for mathematical functions
  • Trigonometric calculations (degrees/radians)
  • Variable combination in expressions
  • Significant figure guidance

Uncertainty Calculator evaluates the error propagation throughout the mathematical expressions comprised of variables of uncertain value. The application allows input of up to three value-error pairs (A, B and C), that can be used as a parameters in the final expression. Error values should be provided in absolute (100 +/- 5) or in relative format, the latter should appear in percent format (100 +/- 5%). The evaluated expression can include numerous functions, that provided by row of the appropriate buttons. Components and functions can be added directly to the expression field by pressing the corresponding buttons. To encompass expression into the preset formula, select the expression and press the corresponding formula button. Particular attention should be paid to placing brackets to avoid equation ambiguity. The application deals with independent, random errors. So if this is a case never use A + A, but rather 2*A and never A*A*A but rather A^3! Obviously, different parameters can be combined in any way (A+B or C *A^2 .. is perfectly fine). Angles for trigonometric functions can be provided in degrees or radians, and that should be reflected by setting a yellow button to "DEG" or "RAD". Bear in mind the importance of units in any of calculations! Implementation Examples: 1.The charge passing through an electrical circuit is defined by: Q = I * t, where I is the current and t is the time. Calculate the total charge value when a current of 0.15 ± 0.01 A passes through the circuit for 120 ± 1 s: Input: A = 0.15 ± 0.01, B = 120 ± 1 The final expression will be A*B, and press Calculate: The final value will be: 18 ± 1.2 Thus, it can be reported the total charge as 18 C ± 1 C. Important! One should only report as many significant figures as are consistent with estimated error! So the value should be rounded to the rightmost decimal place at which error applies. 2. A ball is tossed straight up into the air with initial speed vo = (4.0± 0.2) m/s. After a time t = (0.60 ± 10%) s, the height of the ball is h = vo*t - 0.5gt^2 = 0.636 m (g = 9.80 m/s^2). What is the value and uncertainty of height? Input: A = vo = 4.0 ± 0.2, and B = t = 0.60 ± 10%, then the final expression should be: A*B – 0.5*9.8*B^2 The final value will be: 0.6 ± 0.4 (meters).
