Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Muzodo at none against BandHelper's 10. Muzodo also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). BandHelper's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (113 vs 3). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BandHelper sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Muzodo asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for BandHelper against 4.3 for Muzodo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BandHelper has 113 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of BandHelper's written reviews are positive against 81% of Muzodo's.
BandHelper ships an update fortnightly, Muzodo every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
