Archimedes is the graphing calculator reinvented for the 21st century. It’s much simpler yet more powerful, made with attention to the tiniest detail. FORMULA LIBRARY (PRO) Archimedes is one of the first calculators to feature an inbuilt formula library. It’s as simple as picking a formula and filling in the variables. The answer is calculated automatically, and even units are fully supported. PLOTTING (PRO) Intersecting, integrating and finding derivatives should be intuitive and straightforward. Archimedes lets you interact directly with plots and makes it all as easy as dragging your fingers across the screen. EQUATIONS Archimedes is backed by a powerful mathematical engine. Equations are solved automatically and can be shown in both exact and numeric form, and even systems of equations are supported. Developed by Patrick Pijnappel & Niels Andriesse

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: GraphMath at 5.0 against Archimedes Calculator's 4.4. GraphMath also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Archimedes Calculator's advantage is ratings volume (68 vs 12) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Archimedes Calculator sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. GraphMath asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

GraphMath holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Archimedes Calculator has 68 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Archimedes Calculator's written reviews are positive against 100% of GraphMath's.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Archimedes Calculator ships an update every 5 weeks, GraphMath fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
