Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: PERRK at every 3 weeks against 5SecondsApp's every 2 months. PERRK also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 61%). 5SecondsApp's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 123). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. 5SecondsApp sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and PERRK sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
5SecondsApp holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 5SecondsApp has 1.4K ratings behind it against 123, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of 5SecondsApp's written reviews are positive against 71% of PERRK's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
5SecondsApp ships an update every 2 months, PERRK every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
