Verdict
Fatsoma and Compound Fun both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Compound Fun's written reviews are positive against 42% of Fatsoma's. Compound Fun also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Fatsoma's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 149 months) and ratings volume (874 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Fatsoma holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fatsoma has 874 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Fatsoma's written reviews are positive against 100% of Compound Fun's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Fatsoma ships an update monthly, Compound Fun every 149 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
