Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tiles² at none against Brain Games's 11. Tiles² also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Brain Games's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (25K vs 631). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Brain Games against 4.6 for Tiles². That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brain Games has 25K ratings behind it against 631, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 84% of Brain Games's written reviews are positive against 86% of Tiles²'s.
Brain Games ships an update fortnightly, Tiles² every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
