Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Redmine Client at 5.0 against Ping's 4.3. Redmine Client also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). Ping's advantage is ratings volume (376 vs 3) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ping sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Redmine Client asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Redmine Client holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ping has 376 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Ping's written reviews are positive against 75% of Redmine Client's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Ping ships an update every 3 months, Redmine Client every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
