Each times table will be presented individually. For every multiplication the division will be calculated. The children will be guided to work independently. The times table shown makes it easy to control each task independently at any time. Children choose the row that they like to practise on. They can choose between 4 training variations: forwards, backwards, crosswise or divided. They succeed when all 4 variations are done without any mistake. There will be a summary for the child to check which tables it manages well and others it does not do so well as yet. In the third section the aim is to train the already learned. The child will choose the numbers to calculate with and will also set a time to finish it. 5 minutes, 10 minutes or endless.

Verdict

The call

Learning Math and The Nutcracker Story both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of The Nutcracker Story's written reviews are positive against 33% of Learning Math's. The Nutcracker Story also leads on update cadence (every 14 months vs every 30 months) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). Learning Math's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.0). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Learning Math holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Nutcracker Story has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Learning Math's written reviews are positive against 100% of The Nutcracker Story's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Learning Math ships an update every 30 months, The Nutcracker Story every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
