Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Blindscape at none against SoundEcho's 1. Blindscape also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 3) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). SoundEcho's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 55 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 91%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SoundEcho sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Blindscape asks for nothing beyond the download.
Blindscape holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blindscape has 1.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of Blindscape's written reviews are positive against 100% of SoundEcho's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Blindscape ships an update every 55 months, SoundEcho every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
