Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: Cat Tapper at Free against Gunslugs's $2.99. Cat Tapper also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 72%). Gunslugs's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Gunslugs holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gunslugs has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Gunslugs's written reviews are positive against 100% of Cat Tapper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
