RepCount is a workout tracker for strength training. It's free, with no ads and no limit on workouts, routines or exercises. Premium adds charts, personal records, supersets, drop sets and export. Every workout starts with the weights and reps from last time, so you always know what to beat. Use it for whatever you train: a 5x5 or upper/lower program, a bodybuilding split, calisthenics, or a home gym with a pair of dumbbells. IN THE GYM • Log more than weights and reps: bodyweight exercises (assisted or weighted), timed holds, farmer's walks, and cardio with time, distance and calories • Warm-up sets, and notes on any set, exercise or workout • A rest timer that can start when you check off a set, with the countdown on your lock screen and in the Dynamic Island • Start a workout or routine with Siri or Shortcuts • Share a finished workout as an image ROUTINES AND EXERCISES • Build your own routines, save any workout as a routine, or repeat a past workout • Add your own exercises. Built-in exercises show a demo and the muscles they work YOUR DATA • Sign in with Apple, Google or email, and your workouts are backed up and synced between iPhone and Android • Works offline, even in a basement gym • Saves workouts, active calories and body weight to Apple Health PREMIUM • Your estimated one-rep max from every set, charted over time, so you can see your strength go up without testing a true max • Charts of heaviest weight, volume, sets and reps per exercise, plus workout frequency, duration and body weight • Personal records for every rep range, all-time and for each year • Exercise history and charts right from the workout screen • Supersets and drop sets • Export your workouts to Excel (CSV) QUESTIONS Can I see my progress without Premium? Yes. Every workout you've logged stays free to look back through, month by month, and each set starts from last time's numbers. Premium adds the charts, personal records and exercise history inside a workout. Is it good for beginners? Yes. Start with one of the built-in routines and build your own when you're ready. RepCount has been downloaded more than 2 million times on iPhone and Android. It's been on the App Store since 2013, with several hundred updates so far, and it keeps getting better. Questions or ideas? Email feedback@repcountapp.com. We read and answer every message. SUBSCRIPTION RepCount Premium is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. It renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you subscribe.

WeLift turns every workout into an opportunity to compete, improve, and connect. At its core is a dynamic ranking system that places your lifts on real-time leaderboards. Each time you log a weight or rep, you see where it ranks among athletes with similar age, weight, and experience. You can compare yourself against a global community or narrow the field to nearby lifters and friends. This approach keeps you motivated, pushing you to beat not only your personal bests but also the best in your region or around the world. Logging workouts is effortless. Simply select an exercise from the comprehensive library or create a custom movement, enter weight, sets, and reps, and the app calculates your estimated one-rep max. That value is immediately run through our ranking algorithm to update your position. Over time, you’ll see your progress on intuitive charts that show strength gains, one-rep-max trends, and consistency in your favorite lifts. Each chart can be filtered by date range, exercise type, or body-weight category, so you know exactly how much you’ve improved and what still needs work. Behind the numbers, there’s a vibrant social layer. Follow friends to see their latest lifts, share your own updates, and leave encouragement. When someone tops a lift you’ve recorded, you’ll receive a notification so you can go one step further next time. You can challenge a friend directly: pick an exercise, set a deadline, and see who claims bragging rights. Friendly competition fuels accountability and keeps every training session engaging. The app goes beyond lifting alone. Create and track personalized programs with built-in rest timers to keep your pace consistent between sets. Set weekly training goals—number of workouts, total tonnage lifted, or target one-rep max increases—and receive reminders when you fall behind or when you’re on track. Our algorithm also suggests auto-adjusted weight increases based on your recent performance, so you’re always working at the right intensity. An extensive exercise library includes video demonstrations and coaching tips for form and safety. Each entry lists primary and secondary muscles worked, equipment required, and common mistakes to avoid. Whether you’re using barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, or just your bodyweight, the library covers everything from beginner movements to advanced Olympic lifts. To keep your entire fitness journey in one place, the app integrates seamlessly with HealthKit to import body-weight entries and track workout duration. You can also export your lifting history to spreadsheets or share progress snapshots on social media. Push notifications are fully customizable: get alerted when a friend breaks your record, when a leaderboard resets at midnight, or when it’s time to log today’s workout. Designed for athletes of all levels, the app adapts to you. A newcomer can follow beginner-friendly programs and watch where their lifting ranks in a novice category, while an advanced lifter can take on regional or global elite leaderboards. Every time you open the app, you’re greeted with up-to-date rankings, clear progress charts, and a feed showing friends’ latest accomplishments. There’s no guessing where you stand or how to plan your next workout—everything you need to grow stronger is right at your fingertips. Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: RepCount at none against WeLift's shown. RepCount also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 54) and rating (4.9 vs 4.5). WeLift's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RepCount sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and WeLift sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
RepCount holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RepCount has 14K ratings behind it against 54, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 93% of RepCount's written reviews are positive against 82% of WeLift's.
RepCount ships an update weekly, WeLift every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
