ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

PhotoPills holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PhotoPills has 1.5K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of PhotoPills's written reviews are positive against 100% of Intervalometer for Sony's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

PhotoPills ships an update every 2 months, Intervalometer for Sony every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
