Do you like to make dough? Have you ever needed to convert a Baker's Percentage into ingredient masses when making dough? Have you been looking on the App Store for something like this for a while? Then you’re like me, and this is the tool for you! Pizza and bread dough recipes can use Baker's Percentages. Baker's Percentages are used to make more consistent recipes by specifying the ratios of the ingredient masses. One cup of sifted flour does not weigh the same as one cup of unsifted flour. But 100g of flour will always be 100g of flour. Baker's Percentages are also easy to scale to different dough ball sizes. With this app you can include up to 8 ingredients in your recipes. You can also save your favorite recipes for future reference. The ingredients list is customizable so you can add detail about your ingredients. For example, if your recipe calls for Instant Dry Yeast instead of Active Dry Yeast then you can include that. Additionally, if you know the masses of your ingredients, you can also use this tool to convert your recipe into Baker's Percentages for easy scaling to different sizes. You can also add notes for reference that will be saved with each recipe. Supports ounces and grams.

Which one is best? It depends! Because each process has ist own advantages, we let you decide. Switch between techniques easily! WHY BRINE BEFORE COOKING? When brining, salt (and sometimes sugar and curing salt) penetrates into the meat before cooking. This has multiple desired effects: • JUICIER PRODUCE: Brining before cooking makes meat, poultry, fish and seafood juicier. Even after cooking is finished, the brined food will retain more moisture. • FLAVOUR: The brining mixture slowly enters the produce through osmosis. During the cooking process, it becomes evenly distributed throughout the produce and enhances ist taste! • SURFACE TEXTURE: You're aiming for a beautifully brown and flavourful bark? Brining, especially dry brining, will help you! Through the high salt concentration, the outer protein layer partially brakes down, encouraging a quicker Maillard reaction. Wonderful flavours and a bite to match! All the brining knowledge you need - summarized in one compact app with custom calculators. DOWNLOAD "Brine!" NOW! App content in English only. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: DoughCalc at 4.2 against Brine!'s 3.0. DoughCalc also leads on ratings volume (11 vs 2) and iOS requirement (9.2 vs 12.0). Brine!'s advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 50 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

DoughCalc holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DoughCalc has 11 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of DoughCalc's written reviews are positive against 67% of Brine!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

DoughCalc ships an update every 50 months, Brine! every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 11, 2026.
