Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: AgCanada at 100% against The StarPhoenix ePaper's 28%. AgCanada also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 9 months). The StarPhoenix ePaper's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 1.0) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The StarPhoenix ePaper sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month. AgCanada asks for nothing beyond the download.
The StarPhoenix ePaper holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The StarPhoenix ePaper has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of The StarPhoenix ePaper's written reviews are positive against 100% of AgCanada's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
The StarPhoenix ePaper ships an update every 9 months, AgCanada every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
