Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Obsidian at 4.5 against MinDgo 9's 4.0. Obsidian also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 1) and chart position (#124 vs unranked). MinDgo 9's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (9.2 vs 15.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Obsidian holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Obsidian has 2.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of MinDgo 9's written reviews are positive against 62% of Obsidian's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
