Impossible
Good app, but unusable UI, especially with plugins
It works
Best note taking app!! Have used for 5+ years!!
My second brain
Great app but somewhat unstable on iOS and iCloud
Took the tip from the dev to make sure “Keep Downloaded” was on in the Files app… it had always been set this way on Mac but found that it wasn’t on iPad… so now that it is, now it’s wait and see… +1 star for developer responsiveness… star #5 is pending resolution of the crashing issue…
…still the occasional crash from restart — general iCloud instability is probably causing this — as well as file updates that get “stuck” syncing between Apple devices sharing iCloud — need to take Apple to task on this since the sense I’m getting is iCloud is not resilient or robust enough to justify the huge 2TB storage solutions that Apple is selling. Since I can see signs aside from Obsidian that point to iCloud as the culprit I will award the 5th star to Obsidian because I will not penalize it for what is evidently an Apple issue.
Slow, so slow 🫤
Before upgrade, it also loaded very slow, crashing upon app launch if I hadn’t launched within recent hours or especially days. It just shows rock logo for about 20sec then terminates app. With enough tries, it eventually loads. Looks like experience on this newer, faster device may be similar - I’ll know in a few weeks.
Is everyone writing their apps with react nowadays? Is a part of the problem? (I’ve not looked under the hood here - I don’t know, but am wondering.)
App launch time, and responsiveness right after launch is so poor, I regret switching my note taking over to .md from more proprietary apps.
It is astounding that on this device (and my considerably older ones) I’m able to capture and edit videos, record multi-track audio with realtime dsp and various types of synthesis and modelling, video chatting with effects and multiple streams, can search though huge volumes of text etc., yet a lot of apps including Obsidian, perform so excruciatingly slow and poorly (eg wait for network response before showing a button is pressed, etc,), I can’t really comprehend what metrics must be used to measure good development nowadays 😕. Look, a lot of criticism here, but I’d pay for a better experience. Free is amazing, I marvel you folks can deliver such things for free. Wherein lies the problem that such obvious talent takes insufficient/ineffective interest in some kind of metrics that result in really good ux on more-than-reasonably performant hardware for text editing, processing and search?
Once Obsidian is fully launched and “warmed up”, it works quite well., so what I do to mitigate frustration is launch the app and “warm it up” some minutes BEFORE actually needing it. Luckily, this morning I was doing just that, well before I needed it, otherwise I would not have been able to use the app at all during the time I needed it. Thankfully it eventually loaded (perhaps after 4 crashes, each one minutes in duration, with final launch attempt before breakfast, then once breakfast was done it was loaded except for the spinning loading icon at the top-left, which would be the button to navigate to other files- I restarting Obsidian one more time cleared that up too).
打开很卡甚至打不开
Update: fixed (keep downloaded
App is so slow to open on mobile , especially in low latency environments (often on mobile). It's getting to the point where I may even switch off as it just takes so long to get to an editor.

Life changer
I juggle several projects at once, and for years I had a pile of half-finished ideas scattered across notebooks and apps. Since switching to Obsidian, I've gone back and actually finished things I'd shelved for months. My productivity hasn't just improved .it's transformed.
If I've managed to make even a small mark in the world, a real part of that credit belongs to this app.
I use this app every day to manage my poor memory.

It’s the notes and records app we all deserve.
