Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: FTP Client at 4.5 against DigitalOcean Manager's 3.4. FTP Client also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (74% vs 45%). DigitalOcean Manager's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
