** iPad Version also available as "Bingo Fuel HD" ** ** PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS ** NOT ** A BINGO GAME! ** Welcome to Bingo Fuel! Delays, holding patterns and diversions are typically not an everyday occurrence in aviation, but when one or all of these do happen, quick and accurate fuel numbers are critically important. The term "Bingo Fuel" has its roots in military aviation, but has become widely accepted in all phases as representing the critical fuel number where a decision must be made -- to divert to an alternate, continue to the destination or make an intermediate stop. Simply, your "Bingo" fuel number means that you cannot accept any additional holding or delay and still land with the regulatory amount of fuel required. Many rules of thumb and computational methods exist to compute "Bingo," and this application allows for their use -- while also providing a standardized framework to take the difficulty out of figuring the Bingo Fuel number. The application has three main components -- Burn to Destination, Calculate Bingo and Time To Hold. The Burn to Destination tool computes fuel burn with pilot entry of groundspeed, fuel flow and distance. Calculate Bingo figures your Bingo Fuel number with pilot entry of alternate fuel, reserve fuel, fuel burn and a safety margin, if you choose. Finally, Time To Hold figures the number of minutes you may hold with pilot entry of fuel on board, fuel flow and the bingo fuel number. Detailed instructions for using the application are also provided in app - no internet connection required! These tools may be used by themselves, or in combination - values are auto-filled between the tools for your convenience! Burn to Destination is auto-filled to Calculate Bingo, and the Bingo Fuel number is auto-filled over to Time To Hold. Designed by a commercial airline pilot, much care was taken to make Bingo Fuel clean, user-friendly and efficient. Enter your values, get results and use that information to safely complete your flight. Clear skies, and thanks for choosing Bingo Fuel! ** NOTE ** Please follow your applicable regulations for fuel planning and use of portable electronic devices in flight! xWind is an easy to use tool to assist pilots in evaluating wind conditions with respect to head, cross and tailwind limitations. Once setup, the xWind app provides all information in one single screen, requiring minimal user interaction during high workload phases of flight, displaying: - Current wind direction and speed - Runway course - Cross and head or tailwind components - Currently applied wind limits - 'Forbidden' wind angles based on the current wind speed - Maximum wind speed table based on current wind limits Reference wind, runway course, as well as wind limits, can all be adjusted on the main screen by either dragging the wind arrow, course rose or wind limit lines. A settings button at the bottom presents a popup screen where both the units for wind speed (Kts or Mps) and the default values for wind limits can be specified. In addition to the general setting for wind speed units, the user can select the alternative units for only the current wind, wind components and maximum winds table by double tapping the wind display at the top of the main screen. When operating from a Kts country into Mps territory, this option allows to set the current wind and see the maximum allowed winds in Mps, based on limits that are still set in Kts. Or vice versa.... xWinds supports iOS darkmode.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: xWind at fortnightly against Bingo Fuel's every 15 months. xWind also leads on ratings volume (554 vs 4) and chart position (#95 vs unranked). Bingo Fuel's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
