All randomness wasn't created equal. This app offers certified true randomness, generated with atmospheric noise and independently approved by several testing labs. (See sample certificate from eCOGRA.) You can use our randomizers for free and without ads in this official app. If you would like to support our free services, you can do so by making a donation through our website: https://www.random.org/donate - Coin Flipper with 100 different coins from Ancient Rome to 27 modern currencies - Dice Roller to roll up to six regular dice in one go - Card Shuffler to shuffle playing cards and draw them one at a time - Lotto Quick Pick with more than 170 lotteries from all around the world - Integer Generator to generate true random numbers in configurable intervals - List Randomizer to create and randomize your own lists of items RANDOM.ORG was founded in 1998 and generates certified true randomness from atmospheric noise, which for many purposes is better than the pseudo-random numbers typically used in computer programs. Our mission is the generate the highest quality true randomness and make it available to the world in useful forms.
TrueEntropy
This app leverages your smartphone's camera to produce genuine random numbers by capturing thermal noise. It generates a high volume of entropy, suitable for cryptographic purposes, and can output data locally or remotely.
- Generate true random numbers from thermal noise
- Utilizes smartphone camera sensor
- High volume entropy generation
- Output binary files locally
- Send entropy via cryptographic relays
- Continuous generation mode

TrueEntropy uses your phone's camera to generate true random numbers derived from thermal noise. The camera in your smartphone is so advanced that it can detect even the smallest variations produced by fundamental particle physics. We capture thermal variations in every pixel of your phone's camera to create a powerful, high volume entropy random number generator. No need to move your phone - even if your phone is resting on a desktop, it is able to pick up a sufficient quantity of thermal variations to generate random numbers at a rate of 18Mb per minute. - Generate binary files for local use via AirDrop - Send entropy to a destination machine via cryptographic relays - Continuous generation mode to constantly reseed target machines

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: TrueEntropy at none against RANDOM.ORG's 6. TrueEntropy also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). RANDOM.ORG's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 41 months) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 11). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RANDOM.ORG sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. TrueEntropy asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for RANDOM.ORG against 4.5 for TrueEntropy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RANDOM.ORG has 1.3K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 59% of RANDOM.ORG's written reviews are positive against 67% of TrueEntropy's.
RANDOM.ORG ships an update every 3 months, TrueEntropy every 41 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
