Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
ARRI LiCo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Authenticator has 242 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of ARRI LiCo's written reviews are positive against 56% of Proton Authenticator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
ARRI LiCo ships an update every 3 months, Proton Authenticator weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
