Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Guyette & Deeter at 4.7 against Thomaston Live's 4.0. Guyette & Deeter also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (52 vs 4). Thomaston Live's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Guyette & Deeter holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guyette & Deeter has 52 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Guyette & Deeter's written reviews are positive against 100% of Thomaston Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Guyette & Deeter ships an update every 9 months, Thomaston Live every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
