About

LumenMeter

Features

LumenMeter turns your phone into a real reflected-light meter for film photography — point it at your scene, and get an exposure reading built for the specific film and camera you're actually shooting. METER LIKE YOUR CAMERA DOES Choose spot, center-weighted, matrix, or highlight-priority metering, and watch the reading update live through your phone's camera. SEE YOUR EXPOSURE, DON'T GUESS IT A false-color (zebra-style) overlay renders live over your camera feed, color-coding every part of the scene by exposure zone in real time. Instantly see what's about to clip to black or blow out to white — zoned to your specific film stock's actual shadow and highlight latitude, not a generic exposure curve. BUILT ON REAL FILM DATA, NOT GUESSES 45 film stocks from Kodak, Ilford, Fujifilm, Kentmere, CineStill, Foma, Rollei, AgfaPhoto, Lomography, and more — each with its own ISO, exposure latitude, and reciprocity failure correction for long exposures. Where a manufacturer publishes real reciprocity data, LumenMeter uses it. Where they don't, it says so instead of making a number up. SHOOT THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY SHOOT Lock shutter or aperture priority and let the other wheel do the math as light changes. Set ISO, shutter, and aperture to independent stop increments — 1/3, 1/2, or full stop on each wheel — because real cameras and lenses don't always click the same way. Save camera presets with their own aspect ratio and shutter/aperture ranges, prefillable from 19 reference classic film cameras, so the wheels only ever show what your gear can actually do. TRACK A WHOLE ROLL Start a roll, generate a QR code for it, and every reading you take gets tagged to that roll automatically — along with GPS location, color temperature, push/pull stops, and an optional reference photo shot straight from the app with EXIF data preserved. Add filter compensation for ND, polarizers, and contrast filters on the fly. YOUR OWN EXPOSURE JOURNAL Every reading is logged automatically — searchable, filterable, and exportable whenever you want your data out. No account, no server, nothing leaves your phone unless you share it yourself. Built for anyone who still loads real film — from a first roll of 35mm to medium format work with decades-old glass — and wants a meter that respects what that actually requires.
