Progress Knight is a life-sim incremental based in a fantasy/medieval setting, where you must progress through the career ladder and acquire new skills to become the ultimate being. You first start off as a beggar, barely being able to feed yourself as the days go by. However, over the years you learn new skills and gain plenty of work experience to enter new high paying jobs while managing your living expenses... Will you decide to take the easy route of doing simple commoner work? Or will you go through harsh training to climb the ranks within the military? Or maybe will you decide to study hard and enrol in a magic academy, learning life-impacting spells? Your career path is open-ended, the decision is up to you. Eventually, your age will catch up to you. You will be given an option to prestige and gain xp multipliers (based on the performance of your current life) for your next life at the cost of losing all your levels and assets. Fear not though, as you will re-gain your levels much, much more quickly than in your previous life... After multiple rebirths, the paths of good and evil beckon you. Will you embrace the darkness, becoming a formidable force that strikes fear into the hearts of others? Or will you choose the path of righteousness, embodying the essence of purity and compassion? -- This remastered version integrates the base game from ihtasham42, featuring a complete graphic/UI redesign and new exclusive content (choose your path between evil or angelic). Estimated total gameplay time: 50 hours (without boosts).

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Pause Game at 4.3 against Progress Knight's 3.8. Progress Knight's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 days) and review sentiment (63% vs 50%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Progress Knight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Pause Game sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Pause Game holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 182 and 41 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Progress Knight's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pause Game's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Progress Knight ships an update every 2 days, Pause Game every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and July 6, 2026 respectively.
