About

GLITCH

Features

GLITCH is an educational science-adventure game that transforms chemistry into an interactive journey of exploration, discovery, and action. Developed as part of the 2025–2026 Play to Learn Competition, GLITCH is the result of a partnership between the Saudi Ministry of Education (MoE) and Savvy Games Group, bringing education and game development together to create new ways for students to learn through play. The game is based on a winning concept created by young Saudi students Kayan and Jamila from Al-Andalus School in the Al Jouf Region, selected from more than 150,000 student entries from across the Kingdom. Players step into the role of Badr, a gifted chemistry student, who is accidentally transported to the mysterious Realm of Elements after synchronizing with an experimental gauntlet. The world is beautiful but unstable, its natural balance disrupted by dangerous experiments and a mysterious phenomenon known as the Glitch. Science is your greatest weapon. Explore atmospheric regions, overcome environmental hazards, battle elemental creatures, collect unknown samples, and return to the Lab to analyze your discoveries. By identifying elements, balancing reactions, adjusting proportions, and synthesizing stable compounds, players unlock new abilities and find new ways to progress through the world. TURN CHEMISTRY INTO ACTION - Fire Hydrogen, Water, Acid, and Cryo projectiles. - Unlock abilities such as Dash and Double Jump. - Use chemical compounds to overcome hazards, open new paths, and defeat resistant enemies. - Activate Research Beacons to save progress, return to the Lab, and travel between discovered locations. - Expand your Codex by analyzing substances and discovering new compounds. - Take on powerful guardians in challenging boss encounters. Every scientific discovery changes the way you explore. Cool overheated environments with Water, dissolve mineral barriers with Acid, withstand extreme temperatures, and use advanced mobility abilities to reach previously inaccessible areas. As your knowledge grows, earlier locations reveal new routes, secrets, and challenges. At the Lab, experimentation is just as important as combat. Players observe samples, identify chemical elements and substances, balance reactions, and create useful compounds—turning concepts from the first-year secondary school chemistry curriculum into practical tools for progression. GLITCH combines platforming, exploration, combat, puzzle-solving, role-playing elements, and accessible chemistry concepts in a cinematic learning experience. Created through the Play to Learn Competition, GLITCH reflects the creativity of Saudi Arabia’s young students and the shared ambition of the Ministry of Education and Savvy Games Group to explore how games can make learning more engaging, interactive, and meaningful. Learn the rules of matter. Repair a fractured world. Discover what becomes possible when knowledge is put into action.
