ddtctmcc "2D Touch Control To MIDI Control Change" This is a touch control app that is designed to work with touch gestures and output MIDI Control Change messages. This app is available as standalone version that can run in background and as an AUv3. It features basic features: - 2D Touch Area where you can set 3 MIDI values (X, Y and Touch On / Off) that will be sent as MIDI CC messages - Two gesture recording modes: "Loop" and "Once": -- In "Loop" mode the gesture is immediately repeated infinitely. You can restart it and change the direction of gesture loop -- In "Once" mode the gesture is recorded silently and only played back later when "trigger" or "+pause" buttons are pressed. ... and some important extras: - Scene support. You can store all settings in a "scene" and switch between them. There is an option to set a transition time between scenes to morph loops. - Extended timing support. Start/stop and speed of the loop can also be recorded and played back. The recorded gesture loop can follow the host tempo when running in plugin mode. - Layers. Each instance of the app supports multiple output settings; scene switch is synchronised across all layers.
Ringotron
This app offers advanced control over ring modulation effects for sound design and audio processing. Its multi-band design allows precise manipulation of the audio spectrum, with a special soft mode to reduce unwanted intermodulation. It can also function as a resonant filter that smoothly transitions into a ring modulator.
- Parallel ring modulator units
- Stereo separation control
- Ultra-narrow band resonance
- Ribbon controls for frequencies
- Modulation system for band centers
- Tempo syncing for oscillators
- Soft limiter and clipper

Ringotron allows taming the strong transformational effects of traditional ring modulation, opening up a wider range of possibilities in sound design and audio FX. Its multi-band design enables fine control over which parts of the spectrum will be transformed by the effect. A special soft mode is available that borrows concepts from feedback modeling, which can be used to reduce intermodulation effects that are often a limiting factor in the more general applicability of ring modulators. In addition to the layers of control they provide, combination of these core features also allows the plugin to act as a stereo, multi-peak resonant filter that can also smoothly morph into a ring modulator. FEATURES: • 2 parallel ring modulator units (max. modulator frequency: 8 kHz) • Stereo separation can be added to band center, mod. frequency, mod. phase • Ultra-narrow bands can be used to create highly resonant sounds • 4 large ribbon controls for band center and modulator frequencies • Band center frequencies can be modulated by the built-in modulation system • Tempo syncing can be independently configured for each oscillator • Built-in soft limiter and clipper to protect against volume spikes IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The plugin comes with a zero-latency, non-brickwall soft limiter, and as such, its stopping power is limited. Make sure to always leave enough headroom or use an external brickwall limiter for total protection against powerful transients. Alternatively, a built-in soft clipper is also available. PLEASE NOTE: • AUv3-compatible host app is required • Suported sampling rates: 44.1, 48, 96 kHz

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: ddtctmcc at daily against Ringotron's every 20 months. ddtctmcc also leads on price ($5.99 vs $8.99) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 14.0). Ringotron's advantage is ratings volume (15 vs 3). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

ddtctmcc costs $5.99 and Ringotron $8.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for ddtctmcc against 5.0 for Ringotron. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ringotron has 15 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
ddtctmcc ships an update daily, Ringotron every 20 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
