Sherwood Kids vs MindShield Reader

Sherwood offers a wholesome reading and audiobook platform built for families who want real books, professional narration, strong parental controls, and a safer place for kids to read and listen. An app where reading is the entertainment, and the stories are worth getting lost in. One subscription gives the whole family unlimited access to Sherwood’s growing library of audiobooks, ebooks, and read-alongs. There are no library waitlists, checkout limits, or book-by-book purchases. Kids can read and listen as much as they want across their own parent-managed profiles. Sherwood works with real books from real authors and publishers, including audiobooks performed by professional narrators. Every audiobook includes on-screen captions so children can see the words as they listen. When an audiobook and ebook are paired together, Sherwood creates a read-along experience where the ebook text highlights in sync with the narration. Parents can create child profiles, choose what each child can access, build playlists, download books for offline use, and review reading and listening activity by profile. Know what's inside a book before your child opens it. MindShield Reader is a content-readiness tool for Christian parents, teachers, homeschoolers, schools, and libraries. Scan a book's barcode — or search by title — and get a clear, gentle report on its worldview, themes, age suitability, and possible content concerns in seconds. MindShield is not a censor and not a replacement for your judgment. It's decision support: a fast first read that helps you start better conversations and decide with confidence. WHAT YOU GET IN EVERY REPORT • A plain-language summary of the book • Recommended age range, with the reasoning behind it • Worldview indicators and guidance for Christian families • Content flags by category and severity, with the evidence behind each • Themes, positive elements, and potential red flags • Parent and teacher discussion questions • An overall 0–100 readiness score on a clear, labeled scale • A confidence level and source count — so you always know how much to lean on it • "Why we scored it this way," in everyday language BUILT ON TRANSPARENCY Reports are AI-generated from available book metadata and public information. When evidence is thin, MindShield says so — using careful language like "available summaries suggest" and marking confidence low, rather than overclaiming. Every report shows how many sources informed it, and a feedback button lets you flag anything that seems off. FAMILY-FIRST • Add optional child profiles with reading levels • See a tailored fit for each child — the same book can be right for one reader and "not yet" for another • Save books to your library and revisit your scan history • Your library syncs across your devices when you sign in • Optional Face ID / Touch ID lock for privacy MINDSHIELD PREMIUM Free to start. Upgrade for unlimited scans and deeper analysis with monthly, yearly, or one-time lifetime options — less than the cost of one questionable book. For parents, teachers, homeschoolers, and libraries who want wisdom and discernment before handing a book to a child. Scan. Review. Decide with confidence.
