About

WalkMeter

WalkMeter is a simple handheld meter for your walks. See distance, time and steps while you walk, then keep the result with an optional note. Hold your device with the rear camera uncovered. Wait until tracking is ready, tap Start, walk, then tap Finish to see your result. Features - Walking distance measured with AR camera tracking - Elapsed time and live step estimates from device movement - A check of the system step count for the same interval when you finish - Average speed and estimated average step length - Saved history with notes you can edit and records you can delete - Automatic units, Metric, or Feet & Miles - Japanese and English interfaces How measurement works Distance follows the horizontal path of your device. Keep it steady in a well-lit area with visible detail around you. Live steps are estimates. After two consistent steps establish walking, the display updates with each detected step. When you finish, the system step count may replace the live estimate. If it is unavailable, a complete motion estimate is retained and labeled; otherwise steps show a dash. Distance and time still work when motion access is denied. If camera tracking briefly drops and recovers, the walk continues with distance marked as an estimate. If tracking cannot recover, or you switch apps or lock the screen, the walk ends at the last reliably tracked position. You can review and save that result. Keep WalkMeter open during measurement. Hand movement, low light, plain surfaces and very slow walking can affect distance and step counts. Average step length is an estimate calculated from distance divided by steps. Watch your surroundings while walking. Your data and purchase Camera images are never recorded or saved. Walking history is stored on your device. No account is needed. Buy the app once, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. Requires an AR-capable iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.
