LiDAR View provides real-time visualization of both LiDAR depth data and camera imagery. You can choose to display the camera view, the LiDAR view, or a combined view that merges both sources for enhanced environmental awareness and depth perception. * LiDAR modes (Options 3 and 4) are especially effective in low-light or dark environments, helping reveal surrounding structures and spatial depth. The visible range can be adjusted using the slider at the bottom of the screen. * Combined modes (Options 2 and 4) blend camera and LiDAR data to enhance object contours and depth details. * In Combined modes, tap the subview to enlarge it for a more detailed inspection. Tap the enlarged view again to return to the combined layout. * The center-point depth is displayed in real time in centimeters. You can capture screenshots at any time by tapping the camera icon, and browse saved images through the photo icon. The built-in flashlight can be enabled using the torch icon. Swipe left on the number icon to access two additional viewing modes: * 3D Point Cloud View — Freely explore the surrounding environment in an interactive 3D perspective by panning the screen. * Stereo View — Experience immersive real-time stereo visualization using Google Cardboard or a compatible VR headset. If you want to view front depth image through TrueDepth camera and front camera, please check our app "FrontDepth View". Designed for the discerning. Powered by your iPhone's TrueDepth camera. Crafted entirely on-device. OpticALLY captures a sub-millimeter 3D scan of your face and computes the exact measurements an optician would take by hand — pupillary distance, bridge, temple, frame and lens width, and more — in seconds. No fitting room, no caliper, no guesswork. — FEATURES — ▸ Export your face in 3D Every scan can be exported as an .OBJ, .PLY, or .USDZ file. Drop it straight into Blender, Fusion 360, ZBrush, or Unity. 3D-print a digital twin, build a custom avatar, or design eyewear that fits only you. ▸ More accurate than LiDAR The front-facing TrueDepth camera projects thousands more depth points onto your face than the rear LiDAR scanner — delivering approximately 0.5 mm of measurement precision. The same hardware Apple trusts for Face ID, repurposed for optical-grade fitting. ▸ Twelve clinical measurements, in real time Binocular and monocular PD, bridge width, nose width, nose length, temple length, frame width, lens width, face width, face height, cheekbone width, jawline width. Every dimension your optician asks for, captured and displayed instantly. ▸ Privacy as a feature, not a footnote Every scan is processed locally on your iPhone. No cloud. No server. No data collected, transmitted, or stored. Your face is yours alone — measurements live in the app, and scan files are discarded when you close it, unless you choose to export them yourself. ▸ OpticALLY Pro Unlock the full measurement set, export, and on-device 3D mesh reconstruction with an OpticALLY Pro subscription. Restore prior purchases anytime from Settings. — REQUIREMENTS — OpticALLY requires an iPhone with a TrueDepth front camera (Face ID). iPads are not supported at this time. — PRIVACY — Privacy policy: https://wonmor.github.io/OpticALLY-iOS/ — TERMS — Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

LiDAR View holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LiDAR View has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of LiDAR View's written reviews are positive against 100% of OpticALLY 3D Scan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

LiDAR View ships an update every 5 weeks, OpticALLY 3D Scan every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on August 18, 2026 and July 16, 2026 respectively.
