Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Swarm II at 14K against EA Connect's 203. Swarm II also leads on review sentiment (41% vs 21%). EA Connect's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
EA Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Swarm II has 14K ratings behind it against 203, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Swarm II's written reviews are positive against 21% of EA Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Swarm II ships an update every 6 weeks, EA Connect fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
