Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Coconote at 4.8 against Motivation Widget's 3.7. Coconote also leads on ratings volume (17K vs 3) and chart position (#49 vs unranked). Motivation Widget's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 24) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 8 days). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coconote sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Motivation Widget asks for nothing beyond the download.
Coconote holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coconote has 17K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Motivation Widget ships an update every 2 days, Coconote every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
